The $1.6 million in the $3.6 billion deal was made possible by the U.S. government, which pledged $1 billion in aid to the country.
But the money was also split up between the countries and other entities to give the rug to the residents.
Trump called the deal “one of the best deals we’ve ever made” and said the rug was being given to a very special place, the American Red Cross.
He also said he would help the Red Cross raise funds for the victims of the flood, including those in Texas.
The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The U.N. has issued a statement calling the deal a “gold standard” for its disaster relief efforts.
Trump has also tweeted that he would personally help the American people with the flood relief.
